PETER NEVILLE  DHc BSc(Hons) CABP is a Companion Animal Behaviour Therapist and has been in practice for the referral and treatment of behaviour problems in cats and dogs for nearly twenty years. He is a frequent media broadcaster, public speaker and regular feature writer in leading UK pet magazines Dogs Today and Your Cat, and a consultant to major pet food and accessory manufacturers. Peter holds a BSc(Hons) degree in Biology from the University of Lancaster, England and completed post graduate studies on feral cat and seal behaviour and human/companion animal relations during 3 years as Research Biologist for the Universities Federation for Animal Welfare. His doctorate was awarded by the Etologisk Institut, Denmark for studies on feline behaviour and the development of treatment for pet behaviour problems. He established the first companion animal behaviour referral clinic at a UK veterinary school at the Dept of Medicine, University of Bristol in 1990, and was appointed Visiting Scholar to the Department of Animal Sciences at The Ohio State University, USA in November 2002, where he now lectures annually on animal behaviour and behaviour therapy.

Major lecturing commitments have included 'State of the Art' papers at the World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congresses in Yokahama, Japan, Birmingham, UK and Buenos Aires, Argentina; and veterinary lecture tours of Japan (1997, 2003, 2004, 2005), Chile (2000, 2002, 2004) and widely throughout Europe. In the USA, he has also presented many papers at the North American Veterinary Association's Annual Congress in Orlando, the American Association of Feline Practitioners Annual Conference, the American Veterinary Medical Association's Annual Conference, the Hawaiian Veterinary Behaviorist Group and also at Guelph Veterinary School, Canada. He has also spoken three times at the prestigous Davis Veterinary School of California Annual Muller Veterinary Dematology Congress in Hawaii with Professor Peter Ihrke on the interface between dermatology and behaviour problems.

Peter Neville is the Companion Animal Behaviour Consultant for Nestle Purina Pet Care in the UK. He is also a Director of the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology which offers a range of residential and correspondence courses in companion animal behaviour and behaviour therapy, and a member of the Coape Association of Animal Behaviour Practitioners. Peter also leads regular 'behind the scenes' and 'hands-on' wildlife safaris to South Africa focussing on African Wild Dogs and is a member of the Feline Advisory Bureau's Feline Behaviour Expert Panel.
